Bug Report OBS Studio not opening

I've been having this problem for a while now. I'll open up OBS Studio and nothing will appear so I'll try to open it up again and it will say it's already running, so i check task manager and it show's its running in the background processes but there's no apps for me to click on so I can actually use it. After looking online the only solution I seem to be able to find that fixed it (in the short term) was to go into %appdata%/obs-studio and delete the global file then reset my computer and HOPE it would fix it. Usually after 3-4 tries it starts to work again but then after running it once or twice it does this all over again.

Does anyone know what's causing this or how to fix it because I wanted to stream tonight but spent over 2 hours trying to get it to work and it is getting really frustrating.

edit: btw there is no error log for me to attach as this issue doesn't actually seem to crash the game, just prevent the app from appearing despite saying it's running

Well uninstall its software, reboot your computer, launch obs, THEN reinstall their software after OBS launches properly.

Good news: Uninstalling Elgato and reinstalling it seems to fix the issue
Bad news: It only fixes it the first 2 times I open it then I have to unistall and reinstall all over again
Worst News: now OBS Studio refuses to to show any images from the capture card.

here yo go, also it does look like the capture card eventually starts working if I activate/deactivate the video capture sourse repeatedly and switch scenes a bunch of times :P

Well there's another common thread to the issues.
Avast.

Try with Avast temporarily uninstalled.
