Question / Help OBS Studio not capturing Elgato Game Capture HD for PS3

Hello,

OBS Studio isn't capturing my Elgato Game Capture HD for PS3 for some reason.

I've attached my log file and a screenshot of what OBS Studio is showing.

Specs:
  • Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
  • Rosewill THOR V2 Case
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Founder's Edition GPU
  • Thermaltake NiC C5 CPU Cooler
  • Rosewill SSD/HDD Mountaing Kit with 60mm Fan
  • CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB RAM
  • CORSAIR HX850i 850W Power Supply
  • Intel i7-4790k CPU
  • ASRock Z97 Extreme6 Intel Motherboard
  • Samsung 840 EVO 120GB SSD
  • Samsung 850 EVO 120GB SSD
  • Samsung 950 PRO PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD
  • Western Digital Blue 1TB Drive x 2

That you're seeing that message/graphic indicates OBS has connected to the device just fine. That image comes from the device itself, not OBS. Make sure it's configured correctly by clicking Configure Video in the video capture card properties.

Eventually, it will say:

If I close out of OBS Studio, and open the Elgato Game Capture HD software, it will display fine:

But OBS will not, for some reason, actually pull the video.

Did you do what I suggested with Configure Video option in OBS? Elgato provides a different driver interface for third-party applications like OBS to use. Their application uses the card in a much different way.
