Question / Help OBS studio messed up my display resolution

Hey fellas,

For the first time I installed this program and started screen recording. It forced me to chose 1920 x 1080 resolution and did the recording successfully. Now my windows 10 laptop no longer recognizes my monitor QHD 2560 x 1440 resolution.

I uninstalled/reinstalled/updated the display drivers, updated/repaired windows and did all the fixes that a Microsoft specialist could do.

I uninstalled OBS but still I cannot see my original resolution in the available list of display resolution options and the maximum I can see is 1920 x 1080. Previously it was showing 2560 x 1440 as "Recommended" resolution in the list of resolutions in windows display settings but now, strangely it shows "Recommended" resolution as 1024 x 768 !!

Is there anything deep in the system or display drivers that might be manipulated by OBS and leave marks?
Please help!

Thanks in advance

OBS doesn't mess with screen resolution or graphics drivers. It just uses what the system provides. If there is an issue with your display resolution after you used OBS, it was already there before you installed OBS.

Well, when I wanted to start recording it didn't let me record the screen in 2560 x 1440. So you say that everyone can record QHD if they want?

Thanks for your kind response. I didn't have more than 1920 x 1080 resolution option in either of those lists. I still do not have that option after reinstalling. So it seems the program can not offer higher resolution than what display adapter tells it. Now I need to find a way to fix my driver adapter to show 1440p on my monitor. I am stuck for now as multiple driver uninstall/reinstall and system-wide repair couldn't do anything. Any suggestion?

Thanks
