Question / Help OBS studio making multipul video files - SOLVED

hello all,

I have attempted to search for this issue, but no matter how I word my query I keep getting responses about multiple audio streams.

My trial run of OBS studio recording a webcam and game play of half-life2 via steam worked great. When I went to review the video files I found 27 individual files of various lengths and file sizes instead of one.

I'm unsure if this is a bug due to steam, OBS, or my computer setup.

Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Did you enable hotkeys for start/stop stream?

I did, CTRL+R to start, and CTRL+S to stop......

and now as im typing this I realize that playing half life CTRL is used to duck and mixed with R for reloading and S to go backwards.

This is one of those "Shoulda had a V8" moments.

sounds like I need to map my hot keys to something else! Wonder if I can map them to my 3D mouse....
