Hi,

The Setup:

OBS Studio
Magewell HDMI xi100dusb USB 3.0
Gopro Hero 4
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015)

In theory all reports this should work flawlessly plug and play !

I am having real trouble with the HDMI in quality it seems really choppy in the preview before I am even streaming. I have a Laptop with Windows 10 and it seems more stable on there.

The camera is set to 1080p Superview 25fps I have tried loads of different settings but no joy.

Can anyone advise me on what I can try ? I need to do a livestream on Youtube next month so really keen to get it nailed.

Thanks in advance :)

Here are some examples ... I am using Chromakey but even without that running the Gopro HDMI in still looks choppy the chromakey background looks fine just the video input on Macbook:

How about you can reference the video setup of OBS that is hdmi input.

My experience is as below

1 Youtube live
1.1 windows + OBS can do the "real " 1080p youtube live
1.2 MAC + OBS can not do the real 1090p youtube live
why??
MAC OBS is always get the uvc resolution of 1280x720p.
if you do the 1080p youtube live, it is not real .. it is just scaler up

2. Facbook live
facebook live is just 1280x720p only

you can use windows and mac obs to do the facebook live

please set up the output of livestraming is 1280x720p .

Please DO NOT setup the output of livestraming is 1920x1080...

facbook is jut 1280x720..

it is enough !!!
