Question / Help OBS Studio Local Recordings are not recording in CBR

Kind of getting annoyed that I cannot use Adobe Premiere to use any video I record in OBS Studio directly. Using both NVENC and Intel QuickSync with CBR at 40000. Take a look at my uploaded files for full settings.

If anyone can tell me why my OBS Studio is not using the CBR even though it is clearly being used in the Rate control, I would love to just import a video to Adobe Premiere without having to use handbrake to fix the video in the first place. I thought using the CBR rate control would fix that problem but it doesnt.

Other than Sony Vegas, are there any other video editing programs that can read variable bitrate control videos fine.

P.S If I can get what people use for their handbrake settings to fix this problem without losing quality that would be great as well.

I think you mean CFR, constant framerate, which is always on in OBS Studio (from what I've read.) Though, I have noticed that it might not always be true based on what mediainfo tells me, and also from what I experience in Premiere Pro as well (async issues.)

Yeah that might be the problem because I just enabled CFR in OBS Classic and I recorded using Intel QuickSync the same exact settings and it worked perfectly. Imported a 20 min video without any desync in Adobe Premiere directly from OBS Classic. MediaInfo also actually says constant for the Overall bit rate mode. So maybe something up in my OBS Studio settings then. I might just revert back to an older version of OBS Studio like 14.1 or something as that one I had no issues in recording at all.

If you are having audio desync issues, the Media Foundation AAC codec may be to blame. Try installing CoreAudio Toolbox to replace it with Apple's AAC codec.

CBR is not the same thing as CFR. At all. Recording with CBR will just waste disk space.

Yeah I realized that when comparing the two videos between classic and studio. The audio desync only happens in Premiere, haven't tried any other video editor yet. Playing through VLC and Media Player Classic with the Combined Community Codec Pack everything is fine so I suspect its just Premiere but I will try out your suggestion.
