I have been using OBS Studio with my Elgato Capture Card for quite some time now (6 months) with no problems. About a week ago midway through streaming on twitch one of my viewers told me that my stream was lagging. Upon investigating I noticed it was lagging from both the viewer perspective (checked through my phone) and through the video preview in OBS. I thought it may have had something to do with overloading my internet but I'm experiencing the same problems in the video preview even before I'm streaming.
I made no changes prior to the issue like I said this began midstream. I messed with the settings recently in order to fix the problem but I found I can only get it to run "almost ok" for a short amount of time. Usually when I load OBS the video will freeze up until the point where it seems like the device is disconnected. It would also be important to note that everything works absolutely fine with the current settings through the Elgato software. I have tried removing/installing OBS Studio but that hasn't seemed to help. I believe I have updated everything I can related to this in order to fix the problem but between that and tweaking settings I am not sure what else I can do.
Has anyone else experienced this or have any idea that could help? There has to be some sort of cause it doesn't make sense for my computer to decide is isn't powerful enough one day.
