Question / Help OBS Studio game captures Elite Dangerous when it feels like it. Help please.

OBS Studio only sometimes "hooks" Elite Dangerous. The first time this happened I came here and found that running OBS Studio as admin might be a fix. So I ran it as administrator and it worked. Yesterday for about 2 hours it worked and when I attempted to stream again a few hours later OBS Studio just would not capture Elite Dangerous. I tried restarting obs and the game, when that failed I tried restarting my PC, which also failed to fix the game capture problem.

Finally, I found another thread here that suggested both OBS Studio and Elite Dangerous had to run as administrator. So I checked the "run as administrator" box in Elite Dangerous's compatibility tab in properties. With both set to run as administrator, game capture still wouldn't capture the game. i tried the opposite even, un-checking "run as administrator" that also didn't work.

What can I do so that I can stream Elite Dangerous without having to fix game capture all the time or resort to display capture.

I already explained that OBS was running as admin, I streamed for about 2 hours, stopped for a few hours. Started streaming the same game again. But for some reason game capture wouldn't "hook" according to the log file.

I did say I tried running it as administrator and it didn't work. The following log files were before and after changing admin. There were a couple of things I tried as mentioned earlier. I've tried going to a different scene and changing the game capture to Elite to see if it was just the elite dangerous scene being weird. And it's just Elite Dangerous that's being weird. Ghost recon Wildlands & Planetside 2 is fine.

Sounds like their anti-cheat isn't playing nice. You're going to likely need to bug them about it.
