Hello,
I've recently started using the new application audio capture method called "Application Audio Capture (BETA)".
It works OK for RetroArch and Grand Theft Auto V, but for some reason fails for recording audio from VMWare Player.
The audio output device in each virtual machine is set to the default one in Windows.
Any ideas why I can't record the sound from VMWare Player via the new audio capture method?
Test environment:
- Operating system: Windows 11 Pro version 22H2 (build 22621.521), 64-bit, in Bulgarian with all locale settings set to "Bulgarian".
- OBS Studio version: 28.0.3, 64-bit, in english.
- VMware Player version: 16.2.4 build-20089737.
- Processor: Intel Core i5-9400F at 2.90GHz.
- RAM Memory: 16.00GB.
- Graphics: MSI GeForce GTX-1050TI Gaming X 4G, 4096MB dedicated memory, desktop resolution set to 1920x1080.
- Sound Card: Realtek ALC892 at Intel Cannon Point PCH.
P.S.: Using a virtual audio cable works OK for this case, but I wanted to test the new method as well. Not only that, but in Windows 11 22H2 there seams to be a bug with the option "Listen to this device" in Control Panel -> Sound -> Recording, for any recording/audio capturing device - the option seams to be enabled, but it fails to work until it is unchecked and checked back again, and that workaround must be done after each restart of the system.
Thanks in advance!
