Hello everyone! I'm Kitten it's nice to e-meet you all.
Im new here and I apologize if this is redundant, I checked through a couple pages of this thread but didn't really get a clear answer.

My Specs:
  1. i7-4770K
  2. 1070 Founders Ed.
  3. 16gb Of Klevv Ram @ 2133
My Internet: XFINITY Down- 80 Up- 11/12

I downloaded the most recent OBS Studio, went ahead and set everything up for streaming at 720p using all the top recommendations etc., Now, I placed in the "opencl=true" thing in the correct box however I click start stream and it doesn't go live.

I removed "opencl=true" and it went live however immediately dropping frames by the boat load making it impossible to stream no matter what server I was on or what bit-rate I had.

I've tried streaming with game capture, I've tried desktop capture and I even bought an elgato hd 60 pro and tried streaming through the capture card as you would normally and the problem persists.

Any help would be great, If you need my OBS log I can definitely provide that when I'm home from work.

Harold thanks for replying I appreciate it man.
Completely true, I got the recommendations from several sources but you're correct on that.

I know that the frames dropping has nothing to do with opencl, however the stream won't go live with that bit in the text box. It's when I remove the opencl that the stream connects to twitch and then immediately drops the frames.

In regards to the internet, I figured that would be a topic but my router is new and my modem is only about 4 years old (its the motorola Surfboard) and it hasn't had an issue in the past.

I switched over from XSPLIT because I was also having frame dropping issues after the anniversary update. When I reverted back from the anniversary update I continued to have the issue =/

I'm wondering now if it could really be the modem I have thats just outdated and needs to be switched.

Gotcha.
Im not saying thats its the software at all, my main concern is why it won't go live with opencl=true in the text box, but it'll go live with that removed but with immense frames dropped.

I guess thats the root of my post.

Because with modern computers, enabling opencl reduces stability for no performance benefit.

Harold, I appreciate the responses man but I feel like you're triggered and not really assisting me.
BUT none-the-less I appreciate you taking the time to try and help me out.

I'll go directly to OBS support and see what they tell me. And if all else fails I'll just replace my modem.

Thanks again bud.

There's nowhere to go from here on the OBS front. OpenCL is not going to help you in any way.

Hi,

Can you post your obs log when trying to steam so it shows the drops and also screen shot the result from using twitch bandwidth tool selecting your region.

if you just do a ping / tracert say to google and you see packet drops this would help identify if its a modem issue or switch or cat5/6 cable.

np, let us know if you see in the twitch bandwidth a quality or 80 below on the server you are streaming to then swap it for one higher, 80 is the min you want to see as the results.

You are in the OBS support forums btw.

Anyway, opencl is not related to dropped frames at all.

Perfect. I usually try to select the server closest to me with the best band width but I'll post that stuff here later tonight.

Right which I totally got and I understand now.

However the question I have is why does it not go live with opencl in the text box?
It goes live when thats removed, but again the frames just drop dramatically from the moment the stream transmits the data thats all...
