Bug Report OBS Studio cuts the audio of my notebook and takes too long to open (when it opens....)

Hi! I'm from Brazil and I was highly recommended to use your software for screen recordings and livestreams, and, really, this software is great.

But, I'm experiencing some problems.

OBS simply don't open. When I open the task manager, the task is there, but the interface does not show up for me.

And, when it opens, the sound of my notebook stops working, like it was muted!

Pleease, help me. I really wanna use this software for my photoshop speed retouching videos.

P.S.: I tried so hard to get a log file, but I couldn't open the software. As soon as I get it I will post here.

You may have set OBS to minimize to system tray when started. Check the system tray (right end of the task bar) for the OBS icon. Click it to get it to the foreground. To change the start behavior, open Settings->General and go to the "System Tray" section.

You seem to have a Bluetooth headset connected to your machine. If OBS starts, it activates configured audio devices. Bluetooth headsets are special, because they usually have 2 operation modes: hands free for voip communications and regular audio for playing media. If something activates the "mic" device, the headset switches from audio mode to hands free mode. It does this by deactivating its regular audio device and activating its hands free device. Thus, the regular audio device appears muted. And OBS might hang/delay on the just gone audio device. This is what might happen for you.

I don't know all the details with Bluetooth headsets and OBS, but you might try to do this:
- terminate OBS
- switch off your Bluetooth headset
- start OBS. It should start without (much) delay, because the headset isn't present.
- switch on your Bluetooth headset
- in OBS, open Settings->Audio and configure each audio device to either disabled or an explicit device. Don't use the "default" device. To prevent OBS from switching the headset to hands free mode, make sure none of the hands free devices are referenced in that settings page. For the mic devices, don't use any "default" entry.
Why I recommend to not use the "default" audio entry in OBS: If a new audio device is connected to Windows, it takes over the default device. If this is a Bluetooth device, the switch from hands free to media audio and vice versa may be confusing OBS. Or it may confuse yourself, because you expect that audio devices stick and not change on the fly.
