Question / Help OBS Studio crashes a lot

Hello, I've been using OBS for a fair ammount of time. Recently I've had OBS Studio crash quite a few times on me. I have no clue why or how. I wasn't doing much other than playing my game and streaming and suddenly it just crashes. I'm not sure if the crashes are from the same issue or if I've just been very unlucky recently. Any help will be appreciated a whole lot!

I've now updated my BIOS and will be doing a stream later today. Will post any additional crash reports if it didn't fix it. I was worried it might've been my OC making it crash somehow, even though it's been stable in stress tests. Thanks a lot Harold. Will keep you updated.

overclocks are the other cause of x264 crashes. ryzen motherboards had microcode issues that caused instability in x264.

Hey Sebastian, what mobo do you have? Not trying to hijack your thread, but coincidentally I OC'd my 1700x yesterday on gigabyte ax370 gaming k5 (f22 firmware). Ever since then OBS started to periodically crash for me too

I have an Asus PRIME B350M-A motherboard. Somehow my BIOS update made my pc lag when OBS was open. Realized it had something to do with my camera source. Hoping crashes will be fixed with this BIOS update or else I'll have to turn my OC off and see if that helps I guess. or maybe change to H264?

Interesting. Well hopefully you can keep your OC. It made a significant difference for me and I'd hate to lose that. I'm also gonna be trying streamlabs obs tomorrow. I tried it briefly yesterday without crashing but the session wasn't as long as I had tried previously on standard obs studio.
