Question / Help OBS Studio causing tremendous amount of lag

For some reason, if OBS Studio is not selected, or is not covering any part of the screen, my frame rate drops from 60 FPS to a speed of 15 FPS. This is extremely annoying and I have no idea why, and I'm starting to consider switching recorders because I've tested another recorder on the same game, and the only lag spikes dropped from 60 FPS to 55 FPS.

Any reason why?

Does the problem occur with a new scene COLLECTION?

Hmmm I made a new one, and surprisingly, the FPS went back to normal. Thanks!
