SPECS:
Gpu: EVGA 1080 ftw
Cpu: i7-6700k
Ram: 32gb ddr4 3200mhz
This problem has been occurring for a while now. Whenever I am not using OBS Studio my games preform very well, when I start streaming or recording my frames are at a constant 144hz but around 10-15 into my stream/recording my fps will gradually drop (in game),It has never said I was dropping frames though OBS. It gets down to the point where I am getting under 20 fps and I have to stop the stream/recording. Then my frames wont get better until I fully restart my game. I am currently running windows 10 anniversary edition, but I have only seen problems where OBS performance craps out and not my in game performance. I've tried a full reinstall, 32bit vs 64bit, NVENC vs 264, changing bitrate (normally I run 2500 because I am not partnered). Its strange this also happens with a local recording. I just know its a OBS issue and I just cant seem to figure it out. I have monitored my cpu/gpu usage and temperatures and nothing is excessive. When these fps drops happen my gpu usage is only in the 30% range, which is lower than if I was playing it without streaming/recording. It's like 10-15 min in OBS is hogging some type of performance. With a 1080 I should not be having this issue.
Here are my current settings:
