i did not start streaming yet when i streaming is up to 99 % or even 100% time to time, not to mention because of that stream is very laggy.

My PC setup
OS: Windows 10 64 (pro) Motherboard: Asus sabertooth z77 Processor: I7-3770K CPU @ 3.50GHz Headphones: Sades headphone sa-708 (Stereo Gaming Headphone Headset with Microphone) Ram: 24 GB Monitor: ASUS LED monitor PB287Q, 28 Graphic Card: GTX 970 (4gb) Keyboard: g213_prodigy_gaming
Like i said its start happening after the update few days ago before the update was fine.
Thank you for any answer:)

I made an account here bc I've been experiencing the same exact thing and could NOT figure it out...I was going to respond to the above with.. Mine is and has always been in x264, so that's not it. BUT THEN I FIGURED IT OUT! For ME, it was single handedly my streamelements sources. Each ONE browser source uses SO MUCH CPU. Troubleshoot removing sources while watching your task manager to pay attention where the cpu usage drops for which source @SheppardSG1

I'm struggling from the same thing. I'll be doing some more research tonight and hopefully find out why this is. Did the new OBS update mess with how it uses cores this update?

I'm also having this issue. I can still run streams fine for the most part but as soon as I open any AAA game everything goes wrong. I haven't ever had problems in the past playing these games and I've changed nothing about my scenes - it's only since the update everything broke. Latency is terrible and the audio/video go really out of sync. Without even streaming OBS is suddenly using anywhere from 20-70% of my CPU which is messed up? It never did this before the update and one of OBS support staff tried blaming me on Twitter when I tweeted asking if anyone else was having these issues. Really unhappy and hoping there is a way I can roll back because they don't offer it on their website anymore from what I can see :/ Broken OBS and can no longer play any of my popular games because of it :'(

I just recently had this problem as well, I didn't pay any attention if it was the new update or not but i know it just happened like 1 or 2 weeks ago, and its not like my CPU is bad i have a pretty high end I7. It didn't matter what game i played OBS took up the remaining of my CPU even if my encoder was set to ultrafast. I would play the easiest games like binding of isaac and my OBS would shoot up to 60-80% CPU usage with my encoder being on ultrafast.
