Question / Help OBS Studio 18.0 Encoder Overloading

My system spec is as follows:

CPU - i7 4770k
RAM - 8gb DDR3 1333mhz
GPU - Nvidia GTX 960
My boot drive is an SSD
Games are on a seperate SSD

I'm having trouble recording my gameplay. I initially did 4 recordings without any problems but subsequent recordings all fail because I keep getting a "Encoder overloading" error. My CBR bitrate for the initial recordings was at 10000. Since the encoding error I've reduced that to 1500 and I'm still receiving the error.

I've tried using both NVEC H.264 and x264. I've tried turning the recording resolution down to 720 from 1080 and my fps down to 30fps from 60fps. I'm still having this encoding problem. I'm pretty sure this isn't a pc issue because my specs are fairly decent. I've updated my game software to the latest version, updated my graphics drivers to the latest. I really don't know what to do from here.

Can anyone suggest what might be causing the issue?

This is the last created log. I'm not sure if this would be from the last recording because the encoder overloaded and bombed out. I couldn't even close OBS Studio. I had to restart my pc.

I'm trying to upload the txt files but nothing happens when I use the "Upload a File" button. I get to select the file but once I've done that there's no button that says upload. There's only a close button. Do I not have enough privileges to upload?

EDIT: Nevermind. It's working.

Simply, you're overloading your PC. Have you tried the simple mode presets using either NVENC or the x264 Low CPU usage encoders?

Also, make sure you cap FPS in your game. Overwatch will just run as fast as it can without a cap, and use all available system resources leaving nothing left for OBS.

I've been testing since I set a new scene up and the problem seems to be gone. I haven't tested using the advanced options. I'll do that tomorrow. The good news is I can record at 1920x1080 with 30000 bitrate without issues now.
