Question / Help OBS Studio 0.15.4 does not allow me to start recording with NVENC

Hello, everyone.
I would like to ask for help regarding Local Recording with OBS Studio (I'm using version 0.15.4). For some reason, the software does not allow me to even Start Recording. In this case, literally. No matter how many times I attempt to click "Start Recording", it just does not start. I tried looking up this problem but I found no solutions. I also made sure to update all of my NVidia Drivers and GeForce Experience. I really have no idea what is causing this problem, nor how to solve it.
Here is the log:

P.S.: I believe this error is something recent, as I remember having recorded with NVENC/NVENC H264 before. Still, I can't remember when it started nor what could have caused it.

The device doesn't actually have proper nvenc support. OBS is attempting to record but failing because of the lack of driver or hardware support for it.

Well, it still allows me to use QuickSync. Is there anything I can do about it?
(Preferably something related to the fact that it records perfectly and seems to play fine on Windows Media Player, but on the editor it doesn't allow me to skip parts or it will show a weird black pixelated screen before returning to the normal video performance and quality)

That can't be right. I'm pretty sure the GeForce 940M has NVENC support. It's a Maxwell GPU.

Are we sure it's not related to the Game Capture failing or the Intel GPU, since NVENC is complaining about an external library?

19:54:30.639: [game-capture: 'GameCap'] error acquiring, scale is bad

Have you tried to record using NVENC on a fresh profile, with a scene that consists only of a single display capture?

The 940m is more than a little inconsistent for its support of nvenc, and may vary from one driver to the next and one computer model to the next. I wouldn't count on it working consistently, especially with the results from the log.

Ah, fair enough. That would make some sense given that it seemed to work before for @SkyUsanin. I wonder what makes it so inconsistent for that model.

So what do I do? Can I at least do something on QuickSync, because x268 seems to overload a bit too easily, so I would like to use QuickSync at least.

Use the recording presets
Set your output mode to simple
Your recording quality to indistinguishable
Your format to flv
Your encoder to either software low cpu use or hardware qsv
