Hi All,

I am new to streaming (new with OBS multi platform) and I am having a few issues.

When I start to stream with OBS it says I am streaming but my twitch profile says I am offline.

I have tried resetting the twitch key but it has not helped. I am using OBS 0.12.0 64bit (tried other one to)

I have uploaded the log file here https://gist.github.com/c141970a36bddf0099ce

if any one could help

*edit*
also the longer I stream for the longer OBS says it is not responding when I press stop stream

I got it to actually show me as online and streaming, but after awhile i get some issues.

http://www.twitch.tv/zousug/v/24204765 if you fast forward to 6:30 you can see the issue.. not sure why...
I have included a new log file here

*end edit*

When steam is started, Twitch may take up to a few minutes to show as online.

Your capture card is using h264 and appear to have problems with decoding it. This decoding problems should show up on the OBS preview if this is the case. If possible, try setting capture card to a lower bitrate or lower quality.

the graphics issue i mentioned in op happens in preview as well yes. is there away to fix it besides changing the quality and bitrate? (i will try these suggestions still)

In my settins under output where it says encoder, i have it set to x264 (this is default) but i have an option for AMD Video coding engine H.264 encoder (media foundation)

would this be the better option to try?

my bitrate is set to to 1000

not sure if this info helps any.

OBS's encoder probably isn't the problem if graphics glitch still happens without streaming and without recording. If glitches doesn't happen for up to 10 minutes of preview only, not streaming not recording, check your CPU usage and try OBS hardware encoder to lower CPU usage.

USB 2.0 have only enough bandwidth to send 720x480 at 30 fps, 16 bits per pixel (YUV 4:2:2) uncompressed. Due to slow USB 2.0 speed, your capture card uses a built in h264 encoder to send more or bigger frames over a limited speed to the computer, in which computer needs to decompress to display video, maybe do optional effects. and compress for streaming.

Just a update, I worked out why the graphics goes bad.. (i do not know why it does it though)
it only happens if I am trying to watch the stream on twitch on the same computer.. (was doing it to check quality and chat panel as well) so I can do that on my tablet no problems instead.

Issue now is just constant buffering.. @sam686 I should have stated I am using a Hauppage HD PVR 2 GE to record my game play.

I am putting the settings back to 'simple' for Output and 2000 for bitrate to try it, under video I have base canvas res 1366x768 and output scale 1092x614 fps at 30

Try speed testing your internet, your video bitrate plus audio bitrate should not be more then your upload bitrate, and twitch wants bitrate less then 3500 Kbps.

Trying to push more bitrate then your internet upload speed can handle will only cause buffering.

what would you suggest for 1.10mb up?
I wont get to test it tomorrow (its 9pm where I am) as im not home all day but when I get home I will try streaming again if you can suggest a bitrate and audio bitrate.

I of course want to try and keep the image quality decent to.

Thank you for all your help so far.

Try 700 Kbps video bitrate and 128 Kbps audio bitrate, or maybe upgrade your ISP;s speed to have more upload available.

Ok, I think I have it ok now..

Here is the last stream I did and it isnt buffering etc now and its not 'to' pixelated..

http://www.twitch.tv/zousug/v/24605089

Though OBS did do a random crash while I was streaming..

the 12-50-33 one is the one from when i was streaming, the other one happened while i was trying to access the logs from the menu.. not sure why?

Hi Harold, thanks again for seeing that as I wasnt sure :)

Hi DoAGoldeneye, yeah its as crisp as i can get it, any higher bitrate for video it starts to buffer which i think is worse then a little bit of pix-elation im going to play around with the settings and see if I can make it any cleaner today but i have base settings I can stream of :) now with the crash bit sorted I should be good to go tomorrow when Fallout comes out :)

again, thank you to all that have helped..
