So I recently updated to OBS Studio hoping that it would solve a problem I have had since my computer decided to run Windows Anniversary Update last month. So far though OBS Studio has brought no relief so I think this is a broadcasting/twitch thing but I can't seem to figure it out.
So I have average internet 60mbps download 4-5mbps upload and for years my streaming to twitch has been fine. I streamed many games from Mech Warrior online to my recent fix of Elite Dangerous. I generaly stream around the 2000mbps range upload speed and rarely have seen any stuttering in-game or problems with my stream visually.
Now though I will start up a stream and everything looks good. I get the little notice at the bottom of the OBS screen that I'm uploading at 2000mbps and all that but after anywhere from 2 minutes to half an hour that number will drop to 0 without any notice or sound or anything. the only way I know it's dropped is that I usually leave my twitch stream running on my second monitor and it will drop out saying i've stopped broadcasting. The other issue is that when i stop the stream and re-start it will never show that data stream number again and twitch never receives anything. I generally have to close the program and check my Task manager for un-closed OBS background processes. Once I close all these and start over it seems to work half the time and other times it requires a full computer restart.
As far as twitch goes I have run the Twitch server tester thing and it matched the geographically closest hub (Virginia USA) as the best match for me so that's what I generally use. I have tried Texas and California but it essentially works the same from any of these locations.
Any ideas to help would be great! I will hunt down a log file tonight when i'm back at my gaming PC.
