OBS starts to open then quits - Mac M1 Monterrey

good morning all!!! i have an issue where OBS tries to start (animation in dock is bouncing) but then OBS icon goes away and OBS does not start. this is very interesting as it started right after i upgraded to 12.3 from 12.2 Monterrey on a MBP M1. this is the only app having issues. it seems that Streamlabs opens up and works properly. Any suggestions of how to resolve? what logs on Mac OS can i look at for tshoot? interestingly, on my M1 Mac mini it works fine using latest OS and 27.2.4...baffling
