the 940m is more than a little inconsistent about nvenc support, to the point your system can't use it.

Change your encoder to x264

Hi there!

From what your log says, you are running v. 0.16.2. I would update to the latest version (17.0.0). OBS releases periodic updates and keeping the program updated may very well fix the issue.

I am not sure what seems wrong with NVENC because the log says it is supported and running. Can you try to explain a little more?

The 940m is not a GTX series card, so implementation of the actual hardware component of nvenc is left up to the laptop manufacturer which yields mixed results at the best of times.
