Question / Help Obs sources not popping up

So, every time I open obs to put down a source it does not pop up and the black screen I can't get rid of it. I tried re-downloading obs many times but their is no luck. I've tried obs in the past and it worked fine. But I just don't know why it dosent work for me now and yes im using a Macbook Pro OSX Version 10.9.5. Please help!

OBS 20.x is not compatible with MacOS 10.9. Either upgrade MacOS or downgrade OBS.

Any hints as to which OBS versions are compatible with which 10.9.5? Neither the 'previous releases' page nor the latest download page list any requirements for Mac OS versions.
