Question / Help OBS slows down computer immediate upon launch

Starting last week I've been running into a problem where as soon as I launch OBS on Mac, it immediately slows down the whole system. The window will come up and show the preview pane that shows my desktop, but the mouse becomes all but unresponsive. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the application but now whenever I launch the application it runs this way. It used to work with no issue and I'm not sure what changed since I didn't run any system updates around the time that this stopped working.

Anybody else have this issue or know of anything to try?

Thanks in advance!

Is your mouse also bluetooth? The only aberration I see in the OBS log is a log of audio buffering being caused by a Jabra microphone.

Got a USB mouse to test with? Just curious... disconnect the BT mouse and microphone and run OBS and see if the problem occurs.

I disconnected the bluetooth mouse and use a USB on and also made sure the bluetooth headphone were not connected and it had the same problem. here's the log file from trying it this morning. i also tried disabling the default "aux device/mic" to see if it was slowing down due to too much audio buffering demand, but whenever i clicked "disabled" in the drop down, it stays on "default".

The buffering messages are mostly gone, but without a stream or recording session in the log it's hard to see anything else going on.
