OBS settings ignored by video apps

I'm running Ventura on a MacBook Pro 2018 laptop. I just purchased an eMeet camera and by all appearances, it interfaces well with OBC. By this I mean I can make all sorts of changes, including sizing in OBS. I start the virtual camera and then select it in my chosen video app. I typically use MS Teams (via Chrome) or Zoom. In either case, the apps ignore the adjustments I made in OBS and instead just display what the camera shows as if OBS wasn't even there. I deleted the OBS extension but there is no change.
Any thoughts?
