Question / Help OBS Remote API?

I have a friend looking into the possibility of creating an android application for remotely controlling OBS, similar to http://www.obsremote.com/. My question is OBS Studio's API up to being able to do something like this yet and if so is there documentation that I can point my friend to so he can get started?

best suggestion I can give would be to check out the OBSRemote source code over at GitHub, and attempt to convert it to the OBS Multiplatform plugin architecture

We had considered that option macharborguy. I think for now we will wait for an official API before we precede.
