Bug Report OBS records my microphone but not the sound game (separated audio tracks in .mkv)

Hello,

I have another problem. OBS records my microphone without any problem but doesn't record the desktop sound (game's soudtrack, videos sound, ...). I tried to solve it with discord members (thanks for your help guys) but we've been unable to solve the problem.

Can someone help me to find a solution please ?

Have a nice day,

Have you added your output audio device as a source? Can you post a screenshot of the mixer section of OBS?

Your speakers are going to channel 2 only. This means that in any recording, you have to manually switch audio tracks to listen to one or the other (using a program like VLC for instance).

If you're streaming, or just want everything mixed together, then you'll want to ensure that channel 1 has all necessary channels selected that you want included.

I separated the tracks in a viedo editor software and the audio tracks of the desktop soud was empty (you don't hear anything)

Hm.... can you show recording tab for the output section in Settings? Also, just for completeness sake, could you post a log of a recent recording attempt?

Also, can you verify that playing it back in VLC shows a 2nd audio track, but with no actual audio?

Yes in vlc it works but when I open the file in openshot video editor and after having separated the audio tracks I try to listen to the track I hear nothing. Do you have an explication about that ?
