OBS recording lags, game doesn't - 2020

I've read through a lot of other threads with similar issues, but all the solutions I've tried have not worked for me. I'm still seeing lag/stutters in my recording when my game itself runs perfectly fine. Not sure if I'm just looking at my logs and missing something?
  • Game DVR is off
  • GPU is not overloaded
  • Run as administrator

Exact same problem ,i have tried all sorts of solutions to first noticed problem on my intel i7 3770k with gtx 1060 & 32 gig ddr3 60hz display everything locked at 60 no im on an AMD system ryzen 5 2600x with rtx 2060 super 16 gig ddr 4 60 hz display , and i still have the problem
im no expert but i reckon its something to do with 60 fps because when i get the lag its like dropping to 30 fps then back to 60 , a fix would be awesome

Change your monitor to 120 Hz and game to match (or 60 FPS)
Change the encoder preset from Max Quality to Quality and uncheck the box for Psycho Visual Tuning.

To the OP, what program are you using to play back the recording? According to the logs, there are only a few frames missed, which wouldn't be perceptible.

My problem is that OBS worked fine on a laptop with a GTX 1050, and now I have an RTX 2060 OBS lags pretty much every recording

I usually just upload the direct video file to my editing program (Davinci Resolve 16) and export to upload to YouTube but I notice a lot of a few spots with lag here and there. Could this be the problem?

I have the same problem.
I also have OBS 26.0.2 installed and just try to mirror the monitor to another one.
As soon as I start the game, the FPS go down.
OBS usually has between 5 and 40 FPS during playback. The default setting is 60.
The phenomenon is possibly caused by the security update 2020-10 from Microsoft on Windows 10.
All I know is that I installed it yesterday and before that everything was working.
The game runs on highest graphic settings in 1440p with about 100-200 FPS.

Tested game: Art of Rally
PC:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X
RAM: 32GB
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 5700XT
SYS: Windows 10 Pro

It gets even worse when I run the game in windowed mode.
In full screen I usually have 40FPS instead of 60.
