Question / Help OBS recording lag after update to Mojave

Hello! So grateful for this site and all the resources available. Have learned so much.

I have a question regarding lag while recording video on my MacBookPro (mid 2012, i7, 16gb RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1 GB, Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB) running Mojave. I use the original CamLink capture device to capture video from a Panasonic x920 camcorder, NDI to capture slides from another computer.

I noticed that after upgrading to Mojave, performance of OBS has decreased to the point where I see occasionally see lags (video freezing for few seconds) in the recording (and preview in the program.) CPU usage also seems to spike occasionally. When I was running High Sierra, I did not notice these problems.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I have attached log file. Thank you for any help!

Your machine isn't able to keep up with decoding your incoming NDI source.

On a machine that age, I would strongly suggest downgrading to High Sierra if possible. With respect to OBS at least, you gain nothing by upgrading to Mojave except losing features and, apparently, performance.

Thank you for the response! Which component of my system would you say is causing the bottleneck?

In this case I believe it's the CPU but none of the elements in a MacBook can be upgraded, and OBS performs less well on MacOS and with fewer available features on the same hardware.

No current MacBook is really a good choice for running OBS, especially not compared to either a desktop (ideal) or a laptop with an NVENC-capable Nvidia GPU.
