Question / Help OBS Picks Up Mic, But Doesnt Record It

My microphone isnt muted, the green bar is moving as it should but it just doesnt record it.

I have it set to 2 tracks, #1 is for desktop audio and #2 is for mic audio. It records desktop audio just fine.
In the advanced audio properties everything is set up correctly and in the settings menu as far as i can see its all good, but it just doesnt record my microphone.

Did you check the second audio track with a good media player?

I dont know why VLC didnt play the second track though, but it turns out it actually does record it.

You can add an infinite amount of facepalms to this thread if you feel like it.

It doesn't play multiple audio tracks at the same time because it's not supposed to.
You need to select the secondary track to play it.

If I recall correctly it always worked with multiple audio tracks.

That's like expecting VLC to play all of the language tracks of a movie simultaneously.
