OBS over-riding mirror preference?

Hi-

I'm using OBS at a university for online classes. A faculty member wants to use the program GoodNotes on his iPad as a source. I have no issue connecting and seeing the iPad as a source. The problem is that the iPad is trying to send a mirror that is "presentation", meaning what you want your audience to see. But somehow OBS is over-riding that mirror (I'm guessing it's OBS) and getting a mirror of the iPad screen. Any ideas as to how I can receive the mirror that the iPad is trying to send?

Thanks

Found a fix in case anyone googles this in the future:

Connect iPad in OBS and open Goodnotes. At the moment it will not be in presentation mode.

Open Quicktime and select "New Movie Recording" without actually starting the recording. Instead, press arrow next to the recording button, select iPad as "camera". Goodnotes will still not be in presentation mode.

Unplug and replug the cable. Screen sharing will be temporarily interrupted, but will restore automatically when you reconnect the cable. When the iPad screen comes back, Goodnotes will be in presentation mode.

Close Quicktime and Goodnotes will stay in presentation mode.
