Question / Help OBS output to skype call?

I know this is not the intention of the software, its for broadcasting to many users. But I have a need to customize a skype call (or another encrypted private video call service) and OBS has a great UI for laying stuff out.

I'm a Film/TV Editor, and with COVID-19 situation, I'm trying to do a private video call and do a director's cut remotely starting tomorrow.

I'm renting a Blackmagic Web Presenter (grabs my editing system video output) so I could just use that directly in skype but... I've heard there are sync problems with that device, and OBS I heard you can adjust the audio sync.


So IS there a way to pump OBS output directly into skype (make OBS output look like another webcam option?)

Also how bad is lag? I figure that's mostly up to the service being used, not so much OBS.

Not on MacOS AFAIK. The Virtualcam plugin on Windows does this.

if Skype accepts an NDI input as a local webcam, then that could work. Otherwise you could output from OBS to a capture device, or a Decklink card, and use that as a webcam input on a 2nd machine.
