I may be missing something obvious, but recently I changed my OBS 29 to run in portable mode. It is stored in my program folder on the C drive. All config settings and assetts are stored there as well. I have had no issues and it's been working great. It was set to run as administrator every time. Yesterday, due to an Elgato Stream Deck hotkey issue, I decided to not run OBS as an administrator. I made a significant amount of scene and setting changes. When I closed OBS and then re-opened none of the settings were saved.
I didn't have a clue what happened. So I tried simply creating a scene with nothing in it and closing and opening OBS. The scene wasn't there. I closed OBS. I ran it as an administrator, added a test scene, closed obs and opened it. The scene was there. It seems obvious with this simple test that running OBS as an administrator is allowing the saves to be logged. I'm guessing it has to do with a portable mode thing but I couldn't find anything about it.
Of course I could run it as an administrator every time as I have been for years, but the stream deck issue not allowing hot keys to work with OBS when OBS was run as an administrator was frustrating. Thanks for any info on this!
