I recorded an hour of myself playing subnautica to see how the obs settings were (i just switched to AV1) and none of the audio would be heard unless it was loud enough. for example, all music and ambiance wouldnt register but if i entered the lifepod or the pda started talking it would pick it up.I have no filters set up for the desktop audio and wasnt using my mic. i cant attach a file cuz im guessing that the site doesnt support av1 rn (or my pc is just being dumb)

Are you sure? Maybe on a source that you've hidden some time ago and forgot was there, and "it's always worked somehow" so you've kept it that way?

The Noise Suppressor can do some weird things sometimes, especially when you don't understand what it's made for and the limitations of signal processing in general, and Noise Gates are often misunderstood too.

Or it could be that those different sounds are on different channels. Lifepod and PDA could be in the front corners, maybe center of a 5.1 mix, while music and ambiance are in the back corners? I always thought that OBS just crammed those 6 channels into 2, but if it drops the other 4 instead, then it could produce your issue.

If you can keep the video information to a minimum - just put a color source on top, full-frame - then it compresses VERY well into a ZIP file, and you can attach that here. Or you can upload something to YouTube, make it Unlisted, and put the link here, or a number of other methods.
