OBS only records audio from track 1

Hi! Tried searching for this topic on the forums but couldn't find anything.
I've been streaming with OBS on Linux for a while now, but after switching to another distro I got a very weird issue with OBS:

When I'm recording to a local file, the file only contains the audio output from track 1 on both of the tracks I've recorded.
All my settings are in order. In fact, I can even stream completely fine. I'm getting both my microphone and desktop audio on stream.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling OBS and ffmpeg.

Any ideas?

Does your player allow you to select a different track? Those that don't, are usually stuck on Track 1.

In the second screenshot I have the footage pulled into a non-linear video editor - both tracks are identical when one track should contain the desktop audio and one track should contain the microphone (which, in this case, should be empty as I was not using the microphone when recording)

Are your labels messed up somehow? Looking at tracks 1 and 3 instead of 1 and 2? If the mic is practically nothing (could have some room noise unless it's actually off), then the other two will be very similar.

No, the labels are correct. OBS has recorded tracks 1 and 2, and playing either track by themselves you can only hear audio from track 1 on both tracks.

If I set OBS to record all 6 tracks, they all only contain audio from track 1

Kdenlive - more specifically, version 23.08.1.
Of course, using VLC and checking the audio tracks by choosing them yields the same results - track 1 audio on all tracks

Oh no, wait. VLC has just magically started working now, all my recordings have audio exactly where it's supposed to be.
I tried it with VLC before and it didn't work, and tried it again just now for smiles and giggles but now it works for some reason.
Which is weird because Kdenlive has worked perfectly fine before...
I'll never understand technology lol
Thanks for your help, everyone!
