I stressed test my video card which is a GTX 1080, and shows no problems with stability. I am streaming PS4 footage with my elgato using nvidia codec. I am on Windows 10 AU. I was on the driver version 376.33

Anyone have any ideas why this happens? I haven't had it happen before.

I just had it happened again out of nowhere, I was watching a tv show while streaming OBS

https://gist.github.com/8e2d86a210e732f0e8ccfcb1f9a547ed

I want to add that when the driver crashed, it did not recover, i can hear sounds but had to force a restart because of a black screen.
I stressed test the video card on benchmarks and I have no issues with that. Temperatures are good.

Use GPU-Z .
Maybe card is not working 16xPCI ?
What might you mean about "maybe the card is not working 16xPCI"? Do you mean that his GPU is not on the first PCI-E slot (where the GPU is supposed to be at), or something else I haven't thought of?

In case you're wondering, I'm just a member of the OBS Forums that's just curious about this situation.

Yes, I was wondering if the card is operating in 8x mode and this could be causing problems. Maybe I´m wrong and, even in 8x mode, has nothing to do with the issue.

Maybe your card is defective? Use a GPU stress test to verify possible problem. (I wish to be wrong with this)

Maybe is not properly attached to the motherboard? Open yor PC, disconnect GPU and reconnect again.

I ran the card in a stress test, overnight and it hasnt given out, including a memory stress test.

Just make sure that driver not replaced by the system itself (updated or so). And the issue itself very similar to W10 AU problem, so the only option is to reduce video settings (try simple scene collection with only capture card in it).
