Question / Help OBS not working with Blackmagic Thunderbolt device after upgrade

OBS is showing a black screen. No mic input either. Blackmagic Media Express works shows camera and plays sound. Using macOS Mojave on a Macbook Pro. I can see the Blackmagic device when I add as a video capture device and when I change properties in the mic options but neither works. Tried reinstall OBS. Deleting library preferences. Still no luck. Tried OBS 22.0.1 but same results.

My thread is below, but I use a Blackmagic Ultrastudio Express and after updating to 23.0.1, OBS would no longer recognize the Blackmagic device. I uninstalled OBS and then reinstalled version 22.0.3 and it worked. You might try "turning on" the path by opening your Blackmagic device in something like Livestream Producer or Flash Media Live Encoder, closing that program and then trying OBS. Works for me.
