OBS Not Working on MacBook Pro OS

So recently I downloaded OBS to record a presentation on my laptop. Everything was working fine and i had run a couple of tests that went well. The problem started when i was recording the presentation. I got a low battery warning, finished my statement, plugged in the laptop, and just as I plugged it in, my laptop died. I started it back up and when i tried to open OBS back up, It gave me a pop-up about how the app wasn't closed properly with an option to run the app in safe mode or run normally. I clicked run normally and the pop-up goes away, and nothing happened. It doesn't show as open when i try to force quit the app but when I try to delete it to try reinstalling, it says i can't delete it because it's in use. I don't get it. I have to restart my laptop to close the app and delete it. Every time I re-install it gives me the same pop up then appears to simply vanish if it was never open. I don't know what to do to get it working again.

Update: What I needed to do was restart my laptop so I could delete OBS then go into my finder library go into application support and then delete everything in the cache sub-folder in the OBS folder and redownload and open OBS
