Question / Help OBS not seeing better of 2 video cards

Newbie here.
I installed OBS today and discovered that OBS is not seeing one of my video cards.
I'm using an old MacBook Pro (15-inch, Late 2008) which has the following video cards:
NVIDIA GeForce 9400M (256 MB shared VRAM)
NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT (512 MB dedicated VRAM)

OBS does not see the 9600M GT, which is the better video card in this laptop. When I set the Energy Saver, Graphics setting to "Better battery life," which uses the 9400M, then OBS captures my display. But that affects my performance and the captured video is also affected negatively.

Is there a way I can configure OBS and/or the MacBook Pro so that OBS uses the 9600 M GT?

Thanks
