Question / Help OBS not recording desktop audio

I've currently downloaded OBS onto my Mac. I also downloaded iShow Audio Capture. When I play audio from my computer, I can see that the Audio Input Capture detects it (the green bar goes up and down) but when I try and record it doesn't detect it. The Mic works just fine. In Advanced Audio Properties both are on track one.

Any ideas? I can send screen shots. Please help.

I've had this issue with high sierra. started streaming and saw levels but no audio. Total Reset was the only solution.

I'm on Catalina. What do you mean by a total reset?

I have the same problem. I'm on El Capitan with OBS 23.2.1

I only just noticed as I reviewed my recordings. looks like all last weeks streams did not go out with audio. At least they didnt record any. Can I assume if no audio was recorded then no audio was streamed?

Wait, I figured it out.

I did a full system restart on OBS and it works now. I don't know if its permanent though.

I power cycle every night. Unlike most, I turn my machine off at the end of every day for this very reason.

However, I did mess around with some settings in the audio driver (not sure which ones now I was clicking and mashing buttons left and right) and something worked.

I’m having a similar frustration with desktop audio.

I have my PS4 remotely connected to my iMac. I can play whatever and the audio is broadcast through the computer no problem. When trying to stream from the computer however it will not output the desktop audio. I have tried streaming as well as recording and in both situations there is no audio source.

I have checked the settings but for whatever reason Desktop Audio is disabled and I have no other option to select as an alternative. I have restarted and rebooted as an additional step but no success. Please help?!
