Question / Help OBS not recognizing Zoom Q2n

I'm trying to stream to Facebook Live with the Zoom Q2n camera as a webcam. I have installed Zoom drivers and OBS is up to date but not recognizing the Q2n as a video input device. Q2n is switched into webcam mode. Any help?

I am having the same problem with my new Q2N. I bought it to stream live on FB, and I admit I had no idea how complex a thing it is.
I have installed the audio drives AD have the latest obsproject....but my "device dropdown" shows only my laptop's webcam, no Q2N.
I'm a dummy, lol, I though I could just plug it in select it, and stream away...nope!

Johnpeer - can you connect the Q2n to your computer in card reader mode? Zoom had me try this along with using different cables. My computer and my wife's did not recognize the Q2n in card reader mode. They had me send it back because it might be defective. You should contact info@zoom-na.com and let them know you are having the same problem. I just shipped mine, I'll post when I am able to test the replacement.

I had the same problem.....Every time I would put the camera in webcam mode and connected to the computer...it would always shutoff....although I was getting my computer to read data when the Q2n was set to card reader..
I had downloaded and activated the driver from zoom..
But I noticed that my OS level was at Yosemite...
I decided to upgrade to Sierra and voila ...the camera now works in webcam mode just fine..

I received a replacement from Zoom. Upon first attempts, I was again unsuccessful to connect to the computer. I updated to Sierra, still no luck. Despite having tried several different cables before, I decided to try a couple different ones I had not tried previously. The cable from my Kindle was the only one out of 8 that would let me connect. I'm having some irregularities connecting to OBS now, however. The camera seems to be connecting to other apps (Facetime) consistently.

I asked Zoom if they had recommendations on cables, since that seems to be the issue, and they said they have not experienced issues of this kind. Any type of cable should be acceptable.

Ive got a similar problem but with a twist.........

I am wanting to live stream seminars to FB and bought Zoom Q2n linked to Macbook Air via OBS and following the standard online demo / instructions

1) My set up is as follows
  1. Zoom Q2n with latest firmware installed 1.11
  2. Zoom Q2n drivers for Mac installed
  3. Mac OS is High Sierra 10.13
  4. OBS latest version installed
2) Video source - When I connect Zoom Q2n to OBS and set to webcam all goes well - I can see the Q2n in the drop down menu as a choice for Video capture Device - no problem and the video feed appears normally in OBS and I can resize the feed - GREAT :-) .

3) Audio source - However, when I then go to add the audio source I cannot see the Q2n in the drop down menu as a choice for Audio Capture and only see the choice of "Built-in Microphone" so defaults to using the laptop built in Mic - NOT GREAT :-(

4) I put in my FB streaming key into OBS and the video feed goes to my FB page - GREAT :-)

I have tried different micro USB cables - no joy
I have re-installed Zoom Q2n drivers - no joy
I have re-installed OBS - no joy

Ideas?

FIX. Had the same problem. And I solve it changing the USB cable. The cable that came with Zoom does not work.

Had to test with 3 cables. When I changed to a good cable, the Q2N 4K responded immediately asking if I would like to use the Webcam and the OBS recognized also Before changing the cable the camera did not even ask that. The only one that worked was a branded one that is visually better constructed than those common cables that did not work.

Thanks, Aaron for sharing this good idea that prevented me from spending a lot of time and work sending my Q2n back.

Best.
