Question / Help OBS mutes my headphones

Whenever I am using my Plantronics Beatback Pro 2's and OBS is running (not necessarily doing anything), they are muted. This does not occur with my other headphones (Plantronics Rig flex). Additionally, this only happens if in OBS, my mic is set as the one from the headphones. Any ideas as to what may be causing this? Any and all help would be appreciated.

This is not an issue with OBS, but rather with how bluetooth headsets work. OBS opens both the input and output, and bluetooth headsets do not support simultaneous input/output over the normal audio device methods, so one gets muted.

Awerick: I found a solution to be a bluetooth reset issue. My bluetooth speakers got muted and my bluetooth mouse was non responsive.. solution was to physically disconnect .. turn off bluetooth, then reconnect.. could only do it through settings control panel, did not work using notification action center control panel.

For me, I just disabled the mic on my headset and BAM! Works fine now. Didn't even bother me cuz my headphones don't even have a mic. Why it has a mic option in the first place is beyond me. Anyways, for me, I just right clicked the sound option and got into the sound menu. I went to a tab called recording, and there you should see your headset as an option there (for me, it's just called "ASWT01 Hands-Free," but your's could be different. Just look for the headphones symbol). If that doesn't work than you might be screwed.

I think you must get a wired headset in order to record with headset mic because of Bluetooth.

How do you fix the input/output issue?

I just experienced this...

I was trying to record the audio of my teammates talking as well as audio from me talking while on a zoom meeting, but it was only me being recorded.
This was my solution...

Select these dots then click Properties

Change from Default to Microphone Array
