Question / Help OBS making games crash

Every time I click on the scene that is capturing a specific game it makes the game crash. I tried switching the game to windowed mode, which stops it from crashing, but then it does not fit right in the capture screen. I even tried reinstalling OBS and updating windows but it still crashes my games.

My PC is the Dell Inspiron 5676, running an AMD Ryzen 7 2700X with 16gb of ram and the AMD Radeon RX580 with 8gb gddr5

Can you run the games in windowed mode and just right click the source and "fit to screen." It might not be an ideal solution but it may keep you going until you figure things out. In addition I would try updating your AMD drivers as well if you haven't done so already. Also I see that windows game dvr is on, if that is not something you use you should probably turn it off as it can cause issues with performance in some games, couldn't hurt.

I guess I can stretch to screen to make it fit all the way but I just reinstalled my AMD drivers and its still doing the same thing in fullscreen mode. I also turned off the game dvr and no luck.

You dont have to stretch the screen, just make sure the game is running in the resolution you want it to then in OBS just make sure you drag it to where it fills the window, not stretching it, but like increasing the image. Also an easier solution may be to download a program that keeps the game in windowed mode but makes it "borderless windowed mode" I use this program all the time to make a game borderless windowed if a game doesn't already come with this option in its settings. I couldn't find it in a google search because the search is populated by "borderless gaming" which I found to be a really bad app, I had loads of problems with it, you can try it if you want but with this program you just follow the instructions in the video to set a hotkey for it and boom borderless windowed. Been using if for probably over a year now and not a single issue with it. I use it mainly to completely remove screen tearing by running a game in windowed/borderless windowed.
