OBS Mac M1 not smooth

Hello to the whole OBS community.

I am currently using an Elgato HD60S + on a Mac mini M1 (and record xbox SX games). It works, I also use the Apple hardware encoder thanks to a trick found on the forum, everything is fine on that side.

However, I appeal to those who mostly use M1s.

Do you feel a lack of fluidity during your sessions / recordings?

I record at 60 fps but I clearly don't think I'm at this level, unlike the same tests on a Windows PC where I find the recordings to be smoother. I feel like I'm hovering around 40-50fps on M1, I find it amazing knowing that I don't have any dropouts whatsoever. This is also valid when I use the cpu just in case.

Forgive me for asking, but what is this "Apple hardware encoder" trick that you mention in your post? I recently purchased the same capture card and also have an M1 Macbook Pro and I'm struggling with a persistent issue with the capture freezing on OBS (full description: https://obsproject.com/forum/thread...e-gaming-with-capture-card-elgato-s60.142721/).

H- Not sure if this is the one talked about but this is what I used. h264 Hardware Encoder unlocked for apple silicon m1
Kayne- I also use and the recordings do seem to be less "smooth" then I expected.

so no, I'm really talking about fluidity of the image. On Discord I was pointed out that OBS is an emulated version and that is what could cause this problem. I can confirm it to you, having tested wirecast which is natively compatible with M1, the result is much better. Strongly an M1 version of OBS.
