hi all, i'm aware this issue has been reported a lot and in all other circumstances, i've found the solutions given have not worked for me.
to put it simply OBS all of a sudden now performs really slowly. it is clearly a performance issue in OBS and once i start recording or streaming; the CPU usage jumps, drops the performance of my whole PC, drops the frame rates of the game(s), and creates a completely unwatchable stream output.
last month i streamed 12 days consecutively and OBS worked great, with no latency or performance issues. i haven't changed any encoding settings since so the only conclusion i could come up with is that the latest OBS update could be the problem. however, i've installed previous versions to no avail. i attempted to stream as normal a week ago and had performance issues, found my bitrate to be sporadic and received the 'encoder overloaded' error but my internet was not the issue.
i've reset the scenes, tried different bit rates, tried a simple scene with one device, tried all kinds of encoding settings, run OBS as administrator, set the application priority as high within both OBS and the task manager, checked my hardware/chipset drivers were up to date, disconnected the webcam i use, checked my drives aren't too full, and a few more things.
any suggestions welcome! i'm stuck at the point where i can't stream at all because it outputs at 2fps!
p.s i don't have any log files since i've reset the system so many times but if anyone wants one let me know and i'll generate one.
