Question / Help OBS isn't recording monitor, and has numerous issues for Game Capture

I have a pretty powerful Alienware rig (i7 processor, 16GB RAM, Geforce GTX 970M) and am attempting to record (not stream) gameplay footage for YouTube reviews, but have been running into several unique issues for each attempt.

First, OBS completely refuses to show any visuals when trying to record my monitor, though it does record sound. Apparently this has something to do with whether the integrated Intel graphics card is running my desktop, but other than going into Nvidia's 3D settings and specifying for the Geforce to run things globally, I don't know what to try.

Second, while I've also tried doing the function that has it record a specific application for each game, of the two I've tried (Overwatch and Telltale's Guardians of the Galaxy), both often result in videos having abysmal framerates, even when the games themselves run fine. I'm hoping to capture these in my laptop's native 1080p, but even with the export framerate limited to 30FPS instead of 60, the problem persists. Guardians also suffers from severe discoloration and washed-out looking visuals in recording while Overwatch doesn't.

Does anyone know some of the first things I should try to address any of these problems?

Your log doesn't show an actual recording so it's difficult to tell what is happening, please post some other logs and check for a Recording Stopped line to make sure you are uploading the correct one
