Obs is ignoring bitrate setting and choosing AWFUL quality

I didnt stick the rate up that high because i wanted it ignoring, i stuck it up that high because the apparently good qualty 1080p 60fps bitrate of 6000kbps was shockingly bad. Does anyone know how to make obs use the settings you choose rather than whatever it wants?

You are showing your "streaming" settings, not the recording settings (which can be totally different).

Ahh i forgot to mention, the recording settings have the option "use stream settings". So yes, I am actually showing the correct settings :D

Don't use "use stream settings", but instead choose an encoder for recording, then use CQP or CRF as rate control. Even better, use simple output mode and choose as recording quality "indistinguishable quality".

by the way, that custom buffer size is way too small for the very high bitrate, which will affect the actual used bitrate a lot.
