Question / Help OBS is choppy and impossible to record/stream with

So i want to get into recording and streaming but anytime i try to record/stream using obs every thing is choppy and the recording looks terrible. Iv'e watched multiple setup guides and iv'e found nothing that works. My friends think it's my graphics card because it's kind of old (750 ti) but iv'e recorded the exact same thing using both OBS and geforce experience and the geforce one came out much better and was indistinguishable from my game. I really need help fixing this as a really want to get recording and streaming. Any help would be appreciated, thank you!
