Question / Help OBS idle - GPU load 18-25% - something wrong?

Hi everyone, once OBS is up and running my graphics card load goes to 18-25% although I'm not streaming or recording yet. Is this normal?

Yes, this is normal, because OBS starts compositing for the preview as soon as it is started. It seems a very high usage, because your RTX card is in power saving mode while you don't game. In power saving mode the computing power of the GPU is vastly reduced, just able to display the Windows desktop, and OBS takes a fairly high share from what's remaining. Once you start a game, or if the GPU usage increases above some threshold, the RTX switches to full computing power mode and the usage from OBS becomes negligible.
