Question / Help OBS Hotkey Conflict

OBS hotkeys are great to use, but there is one issue I'm having. I don't know if it's intentionally this way, but currently it is impossible to link up hotkeys (like shift + [another button]) with the numpad. It works with classic keyboard commands (like shift + a) but I cannot get it to work with the numpad.

So as far as I know, you cannot create a second layer of hotkeys with linked hotkeys on the numpad. Is there a reason for this? I would like to be able to setup my different scenes/sources (for example: a scene switch for one scene, and all it's sources, with all normal numpad keys and another with shifted numpad keys) with different layers of hotkeys. As the numpad is completely out of the way of typical keyboard interaction, this makes the most amount of sense to me. Again, is there an intentional reason for this?

Nothing other than the developers didn't consider the numpad to be used as hotkeys. Rather than wait around for that to happen, go and get a Logitech G13 game pad.
I use it to trigger OBS Studio hotkeys.

What you do is set it up to correlate with what OBS Studio keystrokes it accepts. So for example, for streaming lets say you use a quirky key combination that will never conflict like CTRL+F1.
You enter that into OBS Studio as the Stream Start keystroke. Then on the Logitech G13, you use the Logitech Gaming Software interface to setup the G13 to correlate the CTRL+F1 to say, the G10 on its keypad.

The G13 comes in way more handy than just gaming. I use it for other applications as well.

You can also buy an Elgato StreamDeck as well.

So I think I figured out what the problem is. You can add another layer of hotkeys with the numpad, but you cannot use shift as the layer switch. You can use something like ctrl, or alt, but not shift. I think the reason is because the numpad has alternate/multiple commands that a typical keyboard has (like page up/down, insert, home, directional arrows, etc.) so there may be a conflict with the hotkey setup since there are already buttons which do not require a shift to issue those commands.

Long story short: you can use layered hotkeys on the numpad, but, in terms of classic layers, you have to use either ctrl or alt to do so - shift does not work.
