OBS hangs (spinning pinwheel) if no operation is done / Catalina

OBS hangs if I come back from another window or if no operation is done for a few minutes.
The hanging wheel can last a few seconds or minutes, or even not resolve at all.
This gets worse during streaming

Any help appreciated!

Let me try to explain a little better:

I open obs, with Atem mini video and audio in, plus a little static graphics.
I just let it be, while streaming.
After a while (2 / 3 min) Obs hangs if I try to clic its window or a source etc. (spinning wheel)

The longer I let it run without touching it, the longer the wheel spins before getting to work again.
It keeps on streaming fine, but I cannot change scene until the spinning wheel stops.

This also happens if not streaming

I tried to update to 26.1.2 and stil get the spinning wheel.

Any ideas?
